17:30 - Swansea v Manchester City
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City travel to the Liberty Stadium in South Wales to face Steve Cooper’s Swansea City in Emirates FA Cup action on Wednesday evening. The Premier League leaders and 2019 FA Cup victors are in stunning form at present. They have won each of their last 14 league and cup games and have been playing with a confidence that simply wasn’t present a few months back. The Swans are riding high in the EFL Championship but Man City are the clear favourites in this fifth round FA Cup tie.
Cooper’s men are undefeated in 10 games across all competitions and have picked up eight wins and two draws in that fine run. The Welsh side have been beaten just once at home all season, but they haven’t faced a side of the quality of Manchester City in that time. As for Pep’s City, Sunday’s impressive 4-1 win at Anfield against Premier League champions Liverpool was their 10th top flight victory in a row. The Manchester giants should cruise past Swansea and book their place in the last eight of the competition. Take a punt on the away team to win with a -2 goal handicap at odds of 6/4.
Weekend Football Betting Predictions
19:00 - Reading v Brentford
Reading and Brentford meet in a tasty EFL Championship fixture at the Madejski Stadium on Wednesday night. The Royals are in fourth spot in the second tier table with 48 points to their name, while the Bees sit in second spot, a point behind leaders Norwich City. A draw would be enough to take Brentford to the top of the Championship table and also to maintain their fantastic unbeaten run. But we can’t see them settling for a point.
Reading are in decent form, winning four and drawing three of their last seven games in the league. They have won three in a row at the Madejski, seeing off Luton Town, Coventry City and Bournemouth. Brentford, though, are on a staggering 20-game unbeaten run in the Championship, and have won 12 and drawn eight games since their last defeat. Thomas Frank’s men will be eyeing top spot and we fancy the London side to take all three points from this one. Check out the away win and both teams to score at a nice price of 10/3.
19:30 - Leicester v Brighton
Premier League sides Leicester City and Brighton and Hove Albion meet at the King Power Stadium on Wednesday in a fifth round Emirates FA Cup tie. With the Foxes having lost just one of their last 12 matches in all competitions, they will be going into this game high on confidence. The Seagulls have won four and drawn two of their past six league and cup games, however, so this FA Cup tie promises to be far from a one-sided affair.
Leicester, who sit third in the Premier League, have picked up impressive away wins over EFL Championship teams Stoke City and Brentford to reach the last 16. Brighton have beaten Newport County and Blackpool so this will be their sternest test to date. Brendan Rodgers’ troops are a tough nut to crack at the King Power and City should edge past Graham Potter’s Albion on Wednesday. Back the Foxes to win by one goal at odds of 11/4.
19:30 - Sheffield United v Bristol City
Weekend Football Betting
Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United may be rock bottom of the Premier League table but the Blades will fancy their chances of booking their spot in the last eight of this season’s Emirates FA Cup. On Wednesday night, United welcome EFL Championship side Bristol City to Bramall Lane in fifth round action. Who will get the win and make it through to the quarter-finals?
Sheffield United look destined for relegation from the Premier League but the Blades have shown plenty of fighting spirit in recent weeks. In fact, United have won five of their last eight games in all competitions. In contrast, Dean Holden’s Bristol City have been in poor form of late, losing eight of their last 11 Championship games. Our money is going on the Sheffield United win in this one at a favourable price of 4/6.
20:15 - Everton v Tottenham
Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton and Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur go head-to-head at Goodison Park on Wednesday for a fascinating Emirates FA Cup fifth round fixture. On the opening weekend of the Premier League season back in September, the Toffees picked up a 1-0 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Will Everton beat the Londoners again in midweek or will Jose Mourinho motivate his side to rediscover their fine form from a few weeks ago?
These two teams are separated by just one point in the current Premier League standings, with the Merseysiders just ahead. On paper, the pair are evenly matched and both sides will fancy their chances of getting the win on Wednesday. This could be close on the scoreline but we fancy the home side to nick the win. Have a punt on Ancelotti’s boys to beat Spurs 1-0 again, which is available at the tempting odds of 7/1.
About The Tips
The predictions found above are a collaborative effort from a variety of different tipsters. Matches will usually be covered a couple of days before kick off and focus on a combination of value and likely outcomes. We cover a variety of different bets but they usually center around:
- Match Odds – Including variations such as half time / full time, handicap and asian handicap and win to nil.
- Both Teams to Score – A very popular bet for accumulators which we often combine with the match winner.
- Over / Under – Also increasingly popular for accas and again something we regularly combine with the match winner for increased odds.
Also included with the predictions are the trends and stats to back up the argument which may lead you to draw your own conclusions.
Are You Always Right?
It is important to note that not all predictions will come true. This is an important fact to consider and something that many tips sites try to lead you to believe otherwise. In fact, if anyone tries to tell you they always win then they are almost certainly lying.
Success in betting comes from winning more than you lose, not winning every bet. To do this we need to find bets that have a good chance of winning but also where the odds are attractive enough to make the risk worthwhile.
How Does Value Betting Work?
There are many articles on the web that explain value in betting but it can be quickly illustrated through a coin toss which should have a 50-50 chance of being either heads or tails. For the purposes of this example, let’s assume that we toss the coin ten times and achieve and equal number of heads and tails (so five of each).
Scenario 1: True Odds
Weekend Football Betting Odds
We bet £10 per toss on heads at the true odds of evens:
- Heads: 5 x £10 = +£50
- Tails: 5 x -£10 = -£50
- Net Result: £0
At the end of our ten tosses we’re at zero.
Scenario 2: Poor Value
For our second example let’s incorporate the bookmakers margin, meaning that we only receive odds of 4/5 on our winning bets.
- Heads: 5 x £8 = +£40
- Tails: 5 x -£10 = -£50
- Net Result: -£10
Because of the reduced odds on our winning bets we now lose £10 overall.
Scenario 3: Good Value
In our final example let’s assume that the person you’re betting against has miscalculated the chances and pay out at 6/5 for heads:
- Heads: 5 x £12 = +£60
- Tails: 5 x -£10 = -£50
- Net Result: +£10

Here we’ve made a profit of £10, purely because of the difference in the odds and these are the bets you want to try and find.
